Elizabeth Mariani is a queer poet and teaching artist based in Vermont. Mariani’s poems have been published in The Buffalo News, Two Serious Ladies, PoemTown Randolph, Great Lakes Review, Artvoice, After The Pause, Fortunates, The Brooklyner, The Seneca Nation of Indians Newsletter, Hammered Out and Advaitam Speaks. Performances have taken place in Toronto, Ontario, Buffalo, NY and Bowen Island, British Columbia. Mariani’s latest workshop sponsored by Vermont Works for Women was with incarcerated women at the Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility in South Burlington. Mariani believes poetry is an underrated form of healthcare and water is life. Her teaching style is inclusive, vulnerable, direct and humorous.
