Join Andrew Liptak as he explores the history of the hobby and the work that goes into the costumes cosplayers make. Liptak is a cosplayer, member of the 501st Legion, and author of Cosplay: A History, and will bring some costumes to examine up close!

Simply using a needle and thread and your own two hands, patching, patching, darning, and mending are accessible, creative, and satisfying crafts that allow you to keep your favorite items wearable while also adding a personal creative touch. In this free workshop we will find the joy of repair together and gather around the table to learn the basics of mending and collaborate to fix some of your favorite torn clothing.
Adventure into the unknown with our monthly Cryptid Club! Every month, we'll discuss our favorite cryptids, and at the end of each session, we'll create our own cryptids.
Learn to draw dragons and other fantasy art with Science Fiction and Fantasy artist, James Beihl. Develop a love and appreciation for fantasy art, and the process of imaginative picture making. James Beihl will demonstrate how to paint a dragon and walk students through the process of how to create a sketch for their own fantasy scene.
