David Macaulay is the award-winning author and illustrator of Castle, Cathedral, and The Way We Work. In Crossing On Time he illuminates the rich and storied history that culminated in the building of the fastest, most advanced, and last of the great steamships: SS United States. It also tells of a personal journey: the famed vessel was the very one on which the author emigrated to America as a ten-year-old.

Vermont Humanities Council will post the video of Maccaulay’s talk by 7:00 pm on Wednesday, April 22 on their website.

Macaulay gave this talk at the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, MA to coincide with an exhibition of his Crossing On Time illustrations.
