Is it possible to fight infectious disease like COVID-19 – and create a more just world in the process? Watch the award-winning documentary Bending the Arc, and join us on Thursday October 22, 2020 07:00 PM EDT for an inspiring live panel discussion.

Dedicated to providing health care for the world’s most vulnerable populations to combat the global spread of infectious disease, Partners In Health is actively involved in finding community solutions to the current pandemic. This live event provides an opportunity for deeper awareness of how socio-economic inequality results in health and medical inequities, contributing to the spread of disease among the resource-poor populations. Those who attend will leave empowered to look at these issues in their own communities and inspired to develop strategies to advocate for their most vulnerable neighbors.

The story of Partners In Health is the subject of the best-selling book Mountains Beyond Mountains and the inspiring documentary Bending the Arc from executive producers Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and Damon and Heidi Lindelof.

Use this event as part of the curriculum (remote or on campus) in disciplines including health, medicine, public health and policy, human rights and social justice, film studies, anthropology, business and economics. It is recommended that the film, Bending the Arc, be screened by students prior to October 22nd: 1 hour, 42 minutes
