What is Loving Day Vermont? Loving Day Vermont celebrates the anniversary of Loving v. Virginia, the 1967 Supreme Court decision that legalized interracial marriage in the United States. Loving Day is a global network of celebrations with the mission of fighting racial prejudice through education and building multicultural community. Loving Day Vermont has existed since 2014 with the goal of creating community for interracial couples, multiracial families and individuals with multiracial identities in Vermont, to share the narratives of these couples/families/individuals more broadly, and to celebrate the right to love the person of one’s choosing.
