National Ambassadors for Children’s Literature Kate DiCamillo (The Tale of Despereaux) and Jason Reynolds (Look Both Ways) take the stage for our third Open Door Sessions event. Jason Reynolds is a Newbery Award Honoree, a Printz Award Honoree, a two-time National Book Award finalist, a Kirkus Award winner, a two-time Walter Dean Myers Award winner, an NAACP Image Award Winner, and the recipient of multiple Coretta Scott King honors. Reynolds is the 2020–2021 National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature. His books include Long Way Down, the Track series, and Stamped, with Ibram X. Kendi.

Kate DiCamillo is one of America’s most beloved storytellers. She is a former National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature and a two-time Newbery Medalist. Born in Philadelphia, she grew up in Florida and now lives in Minneapolis. She is the author of many books, including the Mercy Watson series, Raymie Nightingale, and Flora & Ulysses.
