A conversation on ethics and genetic testing with Emily Bloom Goldberg, Genetic Counselor with JScreen and Dr. Tim Lahey, physician ethicist at UVM Medical Center.  

Each new genetic test developed raises serious issues for medicine, public health, and social policy regarding the circumstances under which the test should be used, how the test is implemented, and what uses are made of its results. Learn more about the ethical and social aspects of genetic testing in clinical and research settings.

About the Presenters

Emily Bloom Goldberg is a Genetic Counselor with JScreen and the Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY.  She is also Adjunct Faculty at Sarah Lawrence College

Dr. Tim Lahey is an infectious disease physician and Director of Clinical Ethics at the University of Vermont Medical Center. He is also Professor of Medicine at the Larner College of Medicine at UVM in Burlington, VT. He specializes in HIV and other infectious diseases, and clinical ethics.
