Volunteer for Upcoming Special Events!

We are seeking volunteers for the Non-Fiction Comics Festival on Saturday, November 14, 2026

General Requirements:

  • Be at least 14 years of age; 
  • Commit to at least one two-hour shift;
  • For new volunteers - Attend a mandatory 25-minute briefing session in advance of the festival

Volunteers will be needed for the following positions:

Day-of Volunteer Coordinator
Volunteer liaisons between FFL contact, Barbara Shatara, and volunteers throughout the festival.  Previous experience with event coordination is preferred but not required. Knowledge of audio-visual systems would be helpful.

Nov. 14th: 1 Open Position.  4hr shift (11am-3pm)

 

Event Set-up and Break-down Volunteers

Volunteers set up and break-down rooms for exhibitors, lectures, panel discussions and other events.  Ability to lift chairs and folding tables is required.

Nov 13th: 3 Set-up Open Positions, 3hr shift (3:30pm-6:30pm)

Nov 14th: 4 Break-down Open Positions, 2 hr shift (5pm-7pm)

 

Programming and Workshop Volunteers 

Volunteers assist programming throughout the day, direct attendees to programming rooms, ensure programming runs smoothly and on time. 

Nov 14th: 15 Open Positions, 2 hr shifts, 10am-5pm 

 

AV Volunteers

Volunteer helps setup AV for authors/speakers. Knowledge of computers and Audio-Visual equipment required. 4hr shift

Nov 14th: 1 Open Position, time TBD
 

Greeters

Volunteers welcome people attending the festival and provide guidance to help them find the programs they want to attend. Provide general directions to areas of the Library. 

Nov 14th: 8 Open Positions, 2 at each time frame (10am-12pm) (12pm-2pm) (2pm-4pm) (4pm-6pm)

 

Exhibitor Happiness Volunteers

Volunteers check in with exhibitors throughout the day to make sure their needs are met. Deliver water bottles and snacks, collect trash, watch exhibitor tables during panels or breaks. Prior convention tabling experience preferred. 2hr shifts.
