Summer Challenge 2025: Color Our World is powered by Beanstack
HOW TO REGISTER:
1. Create an account at fletcherfree.beanstack.org or download the app for your mobile device (search for Beanstack Tracker by Zoobean, Inc.).
- If you previously created an account through Vermont Department of Libraries or at vermont.beanstack.org, you will need to create a new account. Why?
- Web users can create a new account at fletcherfree.beanstack.org. Mobile users can add a Fletcher Free account to their Beanstack app by visiting Settings > Account > Add Account.
2. Choose challenges to participate in. Color Our World (Kids Summer 2025) and Teen & Adult Summer Challenge BINGO 2025 begin June 16th, but you can pre-register now!
3. Participate in the challenge to earn badges and win prizes.
4. Need help? View step-by-step instructions for getting started with the web version, or the mobile app version.
ABOUT BEANSTACK:
Beanstack is an app (web and handheld device) that helps libraries offer reading challenges. Beanstack is for readers of all ages.
How it works:
- Add challenges of your choice. (Challenges change periodically. Check your Beanstack account for current challenges)
- Start reading! Don't forget to log your progress. Some challenges will let you earn badges for each hour or each book you read, while others challenges will allow you to complete activities to earn badges.
- Don't wait until the summer! You can log your reading anytime, explore reading lists, and add book reviews.

- Why do I need to create a new account?

Thank you to Vermont Department of Libraries for supporting Beanstack Vermont-wide at vermont.beanstack.org since 2020. Vermont Beanstack will end service in mid-June 2025.
Fletcher Free Library is now offering Beanstack directly at a new URL: fletcherfree.beanstack.org.
If you previously created an account with Vermont Beanstack, you will need to create a new account at fletcherfree.beanstack.org beginning May 1, 2025.
- Who can register?

Everyone! Adults can register accounts for themselves and for their children. Be sure to select "Fletcher Free Library (Burlington)" when you sign up.
- Can I set up an account for my child?

Yes! We encourage parents and guardians to sign up for an account to track their own reading. You can add a child under your own account and log reading for them.
- What about my reading log and badges from Vermont Beanstack?

Follow instructions here to download a copy of your reading log.
Please email Megan at mbutterfield@burlingtonvt.gov to have your past achievements from ongoing challenges in Vermont Beanstack added to your new Fletcher Free Library Beanstack account.
- If I read now, will it count towards the Summer Challenge?

Reading tracked via Beanstack will apply to the Summer Challenge beginning June 16th.
- Is there a raffle if I participate in other challenges?

Some challenges offer prizes or raffle entries, while other challenges offer only badges and reading logging. Please see each challenge for details.
- I'm concerned about privacy.

We always respect and protect your privacy; however, because this is a third party app, information you enter into Beanstack can be seen by Beanstack as well as Fletcher Free Library staff. You can find out more about privacy and Beanstack here.
- I want to participate off-line.

Most challenges (including Summer Challenge and Summer BINGO) are also available on paper. Ask your library staff for a paper version.
